Oregon Coast

We traveled along the Oregon coast on our way back to Portland. We stopped at several places to see the sites.

We stopped at Fort Claptsop near Astoria, OR. The fort was the last encampment of the Lewis and Clark expedition before embarking on their return trip east to St. Louis. The kids are standing by a statue of Sacajawea. Dillan just had to do a report on Lewis and Clark so we had to stop to see the actual places he had been studying.

Playing on the beach was one of the highlights of the trip but it was so cold and wet most of the time we only got to do it one night. The kids were drenched from head to toe and it was only 50 degrees.

One of our main reasons for going to the Oregon Coast was to see Patrick's two oldest sisters....Debbie and Diane. They live in Nehalem a small coastal town.

Talking to Uncle Blake about gathering grass and food for his dairy farm and then we rode on the tractor.

Since we visited a dairy farm we had to take pictures of the milk cows!

Mikayla and Peter (Debbie's dog) The kids adored this dog and played with him for hours. He would literally pass out from exhaustion because they would have him on the run.


The kids loved to feed the pygmy goats Lewis and Clark...not the brightest animals. They regularly ran up to the road and had to be chased back home.
