New hair dos and new pets!

Mikayla wanted her hair short so it was easier to do for school....the other reason is because she hates to have her hair done. If it is short then she can do it "herself" with her new clips.
Mariah got shorter hair under protest but she wouldn't take care of it so she had to get it cut. But she actually likes it and was happy in the end.

We went to buy more supplies for our pet rats and ended up with two hermit crabs. The kids told me, we need another crab since the last one died and the cage is empty...I am a sucker but not completely. Once they had me talked into the crabs they tried for fish too since the fish tank is just sitting empty in the basement. Nope to many pets to take care of already, not one more.

What to do for Dinner?

This is what we did....roast your own hot dog. Mikayla's idea after camping on the lake.

Good thing this isn't contagious..

All the Potter women are pregnant except me....all I can say is yeah I just get to spoil the babies and then give them back :)
Note the size in bellies is based on due dates: Wendi Jorgensen due Dec 28th with a baby girl...Carrie Potter due Oct 21 with a boy and Summer Potter due Oct 4 with a boy!!!

While all of us were out visiting in Utah, we threw Carrie a baby shower since it is her first baby..

Lake Powell Round 2!

We got to spend 4 fun filled days at one of our favorite vacation spots....and thanks to Grandpa finally giving in we now have a houseboat to stay on...Yeah! No sand in our beds and food. As you can see we spent a lot of time playing in the sand and water.

My brother Mike on top of the mountain looking out over our campsite.. all the fantastic photos are by my sister in law
Summer Potter our professional photographer.

Grandpa's boat out for a cruise on the lake...we have spent a lot of fun times on this boat for 20 plus years...yes he keeps fixing it.

One of the kids favorite activities was getting rides or driving around the lake on jet skies. Our timid Mikayla who wasn't fond of tubing or knee boarding if you went fast would drive the Wave Runner at full throttle...it surprised us all.
And Tristan loved to ride the "fast" purple jet ski....He would put his hand over mine and pull the throttle back...I guess we have little speed demons.
Poor Tristan wasn't as fond of the purple jet ski after Mom tipped us over in the lake...which I couldn't get back on so I had to swim it back to shore.
Even little Carter loved riding the jet skies. He is a busy little guy just like his mom was at this age...see Wendi it is payback time. The entertainment crew...Mike and Summer took the kids on lots of tube and knee board rides behind the jet ski!

Playing together on the house boat...

Tristan found a spray bottle on Grandpa's boat and thought it was a great way to keep cool without having to get in the lake.

The kids would look for lizards every afternoon and they found this lovely specimen...got to love Mariah's face. She actually loved the lizard and is being a ham.

Everyone had to hold the lizard and have their picture taken with it. We had a slide on the back of the houseboat and we had fun going off it all afternoon one day.. the kids would put a bucket over the side of the boat and then dump it down the slide before they went down. After a while the bucket and throwing water at each other was more fun.

Mikayla and Eden knee boarding on the "whale" board.

Dillan kneeboarding.Melissa and Mike were the only ones that weren't injured or pregnant so we got a lot of ski time this trip...and Mariah learned to ski behind the jet skies but we didn't get any pictures :(
Trip to Lost Eden Canyon, it has these cool caves that you can boat into and the water is deep and cold which is great to go swimming in when it is 100 outside.
Wendi and Mom just getting back in the boat after cooling off...
The kiddos riding to Defiance House Ruins in Forgotten Canyon...
Mikayla and Eden at Defiance House

We had a great trip and lots of great memories with the Potter family. We had a three pregnant women, three ladies without husbands and a Grandpa with a bulging disk in his back so Mike and I got to do most of the manual labor. Next year should be even more exciting if all these babies come to the lake with us.

Oh what do you do in the Summer Time

In between cleaning up my parents basement and many trips to the local goodwill store and dump, we did a few activities to keep the kids occupied...We went to the local International Days parade, the wave pool and the Castle Valley Pageant. The kids have said no more parades for them this summer. The only float in the whole parade...it is the local Price water co.
The kids watching the parade asking when is it OVER.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Pres of the LDS church was at the pageant and spoke..

What do you do with chicken and string?

Well you go crawdad fishing of course while you wait for Grandpa to test out his jet skies on Huntington Lake...Dillan and Mikayla caught about 10 in just over an hour and they loved it. I made them put them all back since I was not going to cook them.
