Cassidy's Arch Hike

 We hiked up to Cassidy Arch and it was quite a hike.  The kids literally ran up the first mile.  Somehow I was leading the pack with them.  By the time we got there I was tired.  Mariah immediately wanted to go across the arch but I wouldn't let her....but then Dad came along and took everyone across.  Not me I hate heights and cliffs even more. 

 Cassidy Arch...named after Butch Cassidy since it is thought he may of had a hide out here.

 Catching a lizard...Aunt Natalie told the kids to stay on the trail 

and Mikayla replied "But the lizards aren't on the trail."

 Everyone must see the lizard catch...poor thing died from being so scared or dropped either one.

 Now Tristan on the other hand wanted to follow his sister everywhere but opted for the more reserved approach...note he is sitting on the same rock his sister was just on.

Capital Reef National Park

 We went to Capital Reef National Park over Fall Break or UEA as it used to be called in Utah.  The kids loved all the hikes and holes they could climb in.   On our first day we hiked Capitol Gorge to the Pioneer registry, petroglyphs and the "tanks".

 Hiking in the gorge...this used to be a road they traveled along until the 1930's to Hanksville.

 Tristan is still not sure if he likes heights...he was a little nervous.

 Homestead in Fruita, Ut....the National Park now owns all the old homesteads and fruit trees.  You can pick your own fruit for a small fee.

Fall Fun!

 

 

We love to find the local corn maze and pumpkin patch every where we live...well this time the pumpkin patch is literally out our back door and we have bought lots of pumpkins and corn from our local farmers market.  But we had to travel a little ways to the corn maze.  It had lots of cool activities like tire swings, hay slides, corn bin, petting zoo and of course the maze.  We had a great time. 

Everyone in the maze...Dillan was off with cousins that day and Mikayla brought a neighbor friend.

New Pets

Mariah loves her new pets.... They started out in this box she purchased at the College of Eastern Utah Dinosaur museum.  Read below what the box said...I was skeptical but it worked.
