The Little Mermaid!

Mariah was in a school play put on by a program called BUDS (a program designed to have special needs students work with typical students to build relationships). They did "The Little Mermaid." Our daughter Mariah has Asperger syndrome aka high functioning autism... Mariah played the part of Scuttle the seagull. She was very funny and animated. Here are some pictures of her in costume. The most amazing thing was the teacher Mrs Boucher who runs this group. She put on a wheelchair basketball game for them, parties, and helped get this play together. Her mother made all these amazing costumes you see in the pictures and in the midst of all this her husband passed away but still finished putting the production together for the kids.

Mikayla's Tooth

To all those that are wondering...Mikayla had a baby tooth removed Monday since it was infected and the permanent tooth was pushing it out. Phew a easy fix.

Busy Weekend

It was a very busy weekend...we had Dillan's birthday, Father and Son's Campout, we were watching a families two children while they had a new baby, three soccer games and even took a trip to the ER for Mikayla's infected tooth. At least it wasn't Tristan's teeth this time. He has had quite the extensive amount of dental work done. And so the picture above is how we all felt Sunday afternoon...we needed a nap to recover. I love the Sundays, a day of rest and reflection.

Soccer!

Dillan is Burgundy no 5.
Tristan is Green No 7

Mikayla is Orange.

Soccer has been consuming our life for the last month. It would of been two months but it rained 8 inches in the month of April so we didn't play much soccer. Several times a week I am walking between fields to watch snippets of each kids game, especially on Saturdays.

Dillan is 12!

Dillan turned 12 this weekend. We gave him his present right before he and Pat went to the Father and Son camp out. And on Saturday we had cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday. But overall the poor kid didn't get much of a celebration. My sister's favorite part is that both parents forgot it was his birthday until about noon that day. Luckily we already had his present wrapped and ready to go. And then on Sunday he got ordained a Deacon. He is so excited to move up to the YM and Scout program!

Eight is Great!

Mikayla turned 8 years old last month and had several parties. First a family party on her birthday and a friend party last week. She was sick both days we had parties scheduled. On her actual birthday she woke up at 400 am with the stomach flu...thankfully that was short illness. And the next Friday she woke up with pink eye so we had to delay her friend party a day.

Since she didn't get to go to school on her actual birthday and she was feeling better by mid morning we went to Sams Club to do some shopping. She was excited she got to eat lunch there and even picked out her own cake...the angel food cake with berries pictured above. We shared our yummy treat with the neighbors. After we opened gifts, she got a butterfly kit and now we are waiting for the caterpillars to come in the mail.

Mikayla wanted a animal themed party so we had cupcakes with animals on top...played pin the tail on the lion, pictionary, and a pinata...thankfully the rain stopped long enough to do that.
Singing Happy Birthday!
