THE BUNDY REUNION! Just a few of your closest relatives (like 1000) out in the middle of No Where!

Off we went to the Bundy Reunion on Friday (July 5th) afternoon...just a few minutes late.  But if we hurried we could make it on time to meet up with Patrick's sister Julie.  Oh but that wasn't to be about 2 miles on the dirt road we had a VERY flat tire.  Good thing Uncle Steve came back to help change the tire..he and Patrick got it changed before road side assistance could get to us.  Whew now we have a under inflated spare tire and no spare as we go off into the wilderness...praying we make it out with no other flat tires.  We finally made it to the Mt Trumbull school house where Lavell attended school till 3rd grade...after that her family moved into St George.
Patrick, Janelle, Lavell and Julie
We all meet up at the school house to have Lavell tell us about growing up on the Arizona Strip.  She was able to show us the house she lived in as a little girl and share experiences/memories of the area.  It was so great to there where the stories happened.

After we finished at the school house we headed up to the Mt Trumbull Cemetery, where Lavell's parents and many other Bundy relatives are buried.

Since we were so late getting to the school house we had to set up camp in the dark and ate dinner at 1000 pm...thankfully Aunt Julie had prepared us all a lovely dutch oven dinner ahead of time.
This is what you do most of the time at the Bundy reunion...find a chair and sit in it to visit, eat or play card games together.  We had lots of time to visit and no interruptions since everyone is totally disconnected from the electronic world.

These boys played cards for HOURS!

More visiting....
Saturday morning are the Bundy family races.  The divide up by age groups starting at 1 year all the way up to 99.  They do it by year increments until about the age of 20 and then they do it by 5 year increments...

Miakyla in the 10 year old girl race

Mikayla got third place

Derek and Brandon Langston in the 11 year old boy division

They took first and second in their age group for boys

Dillan running in the 14 year old boy division

Shaylee Bundy

Dillan got 2nd place

Kaden Langston took 2nd place
Julie got First place in her division.
The Langston family did very well at the races...everyone that ran got a place!
Janelle Langston took 2nd place...

I'll tell you what the highlight wasn't. The bathroom situation. There's a few lovely outhouses out on Mount Trumble, situated in the most poppin places in camp. It was great because you get to grab your roll of toilet paper from camp and walk to the bathroom right past everyone. It's charming because everyone knows right where you're headed. The walk of shame is actually the easy part. Once you're there, you're left wishing you would have taken a pit stop in a bush along the way instead. To say the absolute bare minimum, it stinks....this was described so well by Jessica that I stole her description!

Everyone loved baby Savannah.  She was so cute and fun to hold.  We all had to take turns loving her.

Kaden, Brandon and Derek Langston..

The sack races!

Playing more card games.  Jaren and Tiffany were awesome to teach the kids new games.

Tristan, Jaren and Mikayla hanging out in the hammock
We did take quite the drive  up to the lookout.  It was supposed to be only a 20 min drive...umm after 45 minutes we arrived!  20 min drive I don't think so.  But it was a very breathtaking view and worth it.

Patrick and Gavin hiked down over the cliff...scared me to death.

The kids loved the hammock.

What's more fun than playing and cooking in the fire.

Grandma Hardy handing out glow sticks.

Saturday night is the dance...you can dance with lots of different cousins.

Jaren and Tiffany Simper gave country swing lessons to the Langstons.  We could of used a few but we were so tired, one dance was all Patrick got out of me.

On Sunday morning we got up ate breakfast, cleaned up and left to go home.  We had to drive back to SLC and get 4 new tires before leaving Hurricane.  It was a busy day.
