Air Venture Tour over Kauai Hawaii Day 5

We stopped at the Kilauea Lighthouse on our way to do a air tour over Kauai...it has a tremendous lookout.  The kids loved watching all kinds of birds and we saw several humpback whales.  The Kilauea Lighthouse began lighting the way for mariners in 1913. It served as a pivotal navigation aid for ships sailing on the Orient run. The historic light station consists of a concrete lighthouse, three field stone keepers' quarters, a fuel oil shed, cisterns, and a supply landing platform. It is one of the nations most intact historic light stations.

We took a air tour through Air Ventures over Kauai to see the Na Pali coast.  This fifteen-mile stretch of rugged coastline on the northwest shore of Kauai literally means "the Cliffs." Much of Na Pali Coast is inaccessible due to its characteristic sheer cliffs that drop straight down, thousands of feet into the ocean.

Below are some of the sites we saw on our tour...lots of waterfalls, the Na Pali Coast and humpback whales!

Look closely at the white in the ocean and you can see the outline of the whale...she breached several times and slapped her fins on the water.  She also had a baby that was breaching...
