After we left Knoxville, we went to Gatlinburg, Tennesse where the Smokey Mountains are located....this is where Dollywood is also. This is one of the fun benches in Gatlinburg, the kids and Pat are eating their pound of candy they got at the candy store. Ripley's has several attractions so we bought a combo ticket to do three things. We toured the Aquarium (see separate post) and then took the kids on the mirror maze and the 3-D ride.

Next door to the 3D Moving Picture Ride is the Haunted Adventures...Mariah is the only person who went inside. She said is was super scary. This scary guy is on the outside of the haunted attraction and the kids sat and talked with him for 15 min while we waited for Mariah. They loved to watch him scare people as they walked by.
In between the fun of the tourist area...we actually went up into the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. It was a unusually clear day so we were able to see the mountains. They got their name from the Cherokee Indians. They called the mountains, Shaconage, for the blue-gray haze that veils the summits most of the time. It is one of the most visited National Parks in US.
